Elon Musk has been at the forefront of engineering and technology for 20 years. Although he is only 50 years old, he has a wide range of multi-billion dollar businesses under his belt, from making his fortune with SpaceX and Paypal to changing the electric car industry with the launch of Tesla, Elon Musk has had quite a remarkable career. . Today this iconic businessman turns 51, let’s take a look back at some of his most iconic moments.

His cameo in Iron Man

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us many memorable movie characters, you might be shocked to learn that Elon Musk is one of those characters. In 2010 Elon Musk had a small cameo in Iron Man 2 and although Iron Man 2 is not the most memorable movie compared to other MCU movies, at least Elon Musk had a few lines like telling Tony Stark that he had an idea for an electric jet. Elon Musk has quite the acting experience if he chose to become an actor, as he has also made cameos in The Simpsons, Big Bang Theory, and Rick and Morty.

His nonsensical tweets that cost Tesla money

There’s no denying the affinity Musk has for the social media app, Twitter. His tweets and replies sometimes have you wondering if a fifteen-year-old has been put in charge of managing the Twitter accounts of one of the world’s richest men. In 2018, when Musk tweeted about the Shortseller Enrichment Commission, a regulator that reached a multimillion-dollar settlement with him over alleged security fraud, it started costing Tesla money. After this incident, Tesla’s inventors had to go and ask Musk to “shut up” so he wouldn’t cost the company more money.

Her baby and Grimes’ baby

The world was thrilled for Musk and his partner Grimes when they announced they were having a baby in May 2020. However, heads turned when the baby’s name was announced. The baby’s name is X Æ A-12 and this announcement left the masses with a lot of questions, the most asked question however was how to pronounce the baby’s name. According to California law, numbers cannot be used in names, which led Musk to change the baby’s name to X Æ A-xii, which honestly seems more confusing. Musk even joked about it in his SNL monologue saying “it’s pronounced the cat runs on the keyboard”

His purchase of Twitter

I’m sure in life there have been times when you and I have both made impulse purchases and spent exorbitant amounts of money on impulse. Elon Musk takes this to another level, in 2022 Musk announced that he planned to buy Twitter for $44 billion and news of the purchase came with its fair share of controversy.

Sending your car into space

No, you didn’t misread it, Elon Musk did send his car into space. In 2018, when SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket into space, it had a very special package on board, its car complete with a dummy spacesuit. The spacesuit dummy was apparently listening to David Bowie. It’s certainly worth considering that the car is still somewhere in our solar system.
