Victor Arias and Jason LeÃ³n are leading the search for a founding director of this nascent museum in Washington, DC. The Chief will be responsible for the establishment and construction of the museum on the National Mall.
September 14, 2021 – Diversified Search Group (DSG) has been selected to lead the search for the founding director of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino. The director of the National Museum of the American Latino will be responsible for creating and building the latest museum to add to the Smithsonian Institution and the evolving landscape of the National Mall.
Since its founding in 1846, the Smithsonian Institution has been committed to inspiring generations through knowledge and discovery. It is the largest museum, education and research complex in the world, consisting of 19 museums, the National Zoological Park, education centers, research facilities, cultural centers and libraries. Two new museums, the National Museum of the American Latino and the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, are under development. There are over 6,300 Smithsonian employees and 6,900 volunteers.

Mr. LeÃ³n has placed directors on the boards of Fortune 1000 companies ranging from financial services and manufacturing to executives in asset management.
