Italian football legend Francesco Totti visits the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

CAIRO – May 29, 2022: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat received retired Italian player from AC Roma and the Italian national team Francesco Totti, on the sidelines of his current visit to Egypt to attend the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Totti was received by Ahmed Ghoneim, director of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Ghoneim gave Totti an overview of the museum, the history of its creation and its unique archaeological collections that tell the story of Egyptian civilization through the ages. Totti toured the museum, which includes the central exhibition halls, the Egyptian Textiles Hall and the Royal Mummies Hall.

During the visit, Totti expressed his happiness with this visit and the greatness of the museum’s unique archaeological collections.

For his part, Ghoneim confirmed that the museum’s reception of such important visits sends a positive image of Egypt and makes the museum a main part of tourist programs.
